A couple of years ago I decided to get a tattoo, I know, probably not what you'd expect from a modern day hippie who's into everything natural and organic. I'm sure you're thinking 'What does this have to do with so called magic in water?' Well, I personally never saw myself having a tattoo but after discovering the book 'The True Power of Water: Healing and Discovering Ourselves' it blew my mind!
The book was created by Masaru Emoto, an internationally renowned researcher who has visually captured the structure of water at the moment of freezing, and through photography has shown the direct consequences of destructive thoughts and the thoughts of love and appreciation on the formation of water crystals. To put it simply, he's carried out numerous experiments with the use of positive and negative focused items on water. He then freezes this water for the outcome, reviewing the results via a microscope.
The experiments vary by exposing different types of music, spoken words, written words, pictures and videos to water. For example one experiment had them take water and place into a cup with the words love and encouragement on it and then having a second cup with the words hate, anger and criticism to compare the two. Once both were frozen they appeared completely different, the water with love on the cup had formed into a beautiful, perfect water crystals however the cup of water with the negative words was deformed and discolored. You can watch a great video on similar experiments here.
The True Power of Water explains that the revelation that our thoughts can influence water has profound implications for our health and the well-being of the planet. I don't know about you but this kind of stuff amazes me!
The tattoo I decided to get was simply the word 'love' as I felt it was the most powerful and positive word. The tattoo is also in white as I wanted it to be just for me and for the good vibes. Love really sums up everything for me, if there was no love in the world it would be a very sad place, and so my belief is if you have a positive outlook with positive thoughts, words and people around you, you will attract this same positivity from the universe.

At least once a year I take a holiday, it doesn’t have to be far, cost a lot or be for very long, however it is important to give yourself the opportunity to get away from your home, where you can completely unwind, relax and mix up your usual routine.
In September last year I headed to beautiful Pangkor Island in Malaysia with my boyfriend for a week of total relaxation (and lots of ocean swims and massages!) After such a busy 2016 of working full time as an Event Manager as well as running Living Organic Co. this holiday couldn't have come sooner, I was way overdue for a break and felt like a completely different person after the week!
After returning home and feeling so refreshed it made me think about the actual health benefits you receive when taking a holiday. When was the last time you took a holiday to allow yourself to relax and unwind? Do you need to dedicate some time for you? Then say no more! Read my top reasons why you should book your next holiday now!
My top 5 reasons why you should be planning your next holiday:
1. Holidays reduce stress and anxiety
Studies show that those who take vacations twice a year or more, are less likely to become tense, depressed or tired than those who took vacations once every two years. Vacations make you feel goooood. I know I’ve never came back from a trip thinking, gosh that was hard and I totally regret it!
2. They boost your health
A study from the Framingham Heart Study, found not taking vacations often enough can affect our heart health. They found that people who took a holiday once every six years or less were almost eight times more likely to develop coronary heart disease or have a heart attack than those who took at least two vacations a year. Studies have also shown they lower blood pressure.
3. They assist in making family and relationships healthier
If you take a trip with your family, friends or partner it's been proven that it brings you closer together and boosts happiness within the relationship/s. If you are going it alone it's also great as it gives you time to yourself and the opportunity to meet new people.
4. They give you something to work towards
Planning and booking a holiday in advance gives you something to look forward to. I know this is a big one for me! If I have a busy working year ahead and book a holiday for the middle or end of the year it gives me something to work towards. It motivates you to keep on going because you get an amazing holiday reward at the end!
5. They make you happier
Who's returned from a holiday and thought "I totally regret that"...I don't know anyone, and I've certainly never thought that! As holidays give you a chance to have a break, relax, have fun, explore, eat, be active etc. they give you a chance to do what you want and what makes you happy. Your body becomes more relaxed, you sleep better and return as a happier person with beautiful holiday memories. The benefits of a holiday last at least a fortnight longer than the vacation itself and can be felt for months in some cases. Have you ever seen a friend or colleague return from a trip looking fresh with a healthy glow? You can not only see that the person is happier and more relaxed, they physically look better!
The verdict is, holidays make you healthier and happier from the inside out, a holiday is one of the best investments you can give to yourself. So go on, plan that next trip, you deserve it!

2016 was all about endings and closing of doors making it a challenging year for so many of us, I personally found it was one of the hardest years I've ever experienced!
So when 2017 rolled around I was excited to hear that the year of the Rooster was all about new beginnings and I began to wonder how different the two years had already started to feel, even though it's still pretty early on in the year.
There's so many factors when it comes to fate, lessons you need to learn and as you hear often people will say 'everything happens for a reason'. We have personality traits explained from our star signs and Chinese zodiacs however sometimes these can be a bit vague or not so accurate. This is where astrology comes in, to put it simply astrology is like putting a microscope onto your own life and personal traits - it is completely customised and created for you and your birth chart to-a-T.
To explain in more detail I sat down with Josh Hancock, I've had a few friends see Josh for their in depth astrology and they both said it blew their mind and helped them to learn so much more about themselves and thought he'd be the perfect person to teach us more about Astrology!
Josh has been a practicing psychic for many years and after conducting thousands of readings he decided to delve into the world of Astrology, studying at the Sydney Astrology School and now is a popular astrologist in Australia.
So Josh, as a professional Astrologer can you please explain to us the basic concept of Astrology and how it works?
Absolutely, it’s my favourite topic!
Most people only know their ‘star sign’. That they are a Leo, or a Sagittarius. This is the constellation that the Sun was in on the day you were born. The first things that skeptics would say is that there were a lot of people born when the Sun was in that sign. And they’re right. The were probably millions of other babies born at the same time.
What most people don’t understand is that there are nine other planets that were moving around the Earth at the time you were born. The serious study of astrology takes all of these into account. Analysing all of these planetary placements, and their relationships to one another, is how things get much more specific, and much more accurate, than simply reading the standard newspaper articles that’l tell you that ‘Wednesday is going to be a bad day for love for Aries’.
I practice Evolutionary Astrology. The basic premise is that you have come into this life carrying some karma from a prior lifetime. Your soul has come back to be able to work through an issue which was left unresolved. Through analysis of your birth chart, we’re able to understand what those issues are, and also what sort of journey your soul wants to experience in this life.
It’s quite powerful.
What first got you interested in Astrology?
I started out as a clairvoyant. I was very intuitive my whole life. Part of understanding more about that part of myself led me to some really great teachers, and eventually to reading professionally.
Over time, though, I started to realise that there was more going on than the things I was picking up intuitively. Different clients would be going through similar things at similar times, and I came to realise that there was a larger plan at work for us all, and that was astrology.
It was the ‘missing piece’. Since then I’ve jumped in with both feet and haven’t looked back.
What’s the most fascinating thing you’ve discovered with Astrology?
I think that one of the biggest breakthroughs I had with astrology came when I understood that astrology isn’t that great at telling you what is going to happen, but is very good at telling you how you’re going to feel.
Sometimes our motivations are conflicting. If we understand them well enough, there’s no need to know what the future will bring. We can truly be co-creating our own lives with the Universe’s advice and guidance.
When you approach astrology with that perspective, it’s never wrong. And it never takes you out of the driver’s seat. Other divinatory systems can sometimes leave you feeling powerless, like you were always destined to go through something. That’s great when it’s something good, but it’s terrible during difficult times.
Astrology isn’t going to take the trials out of life, but it will help you understand the bigger lesson that accompanies those times. There’s so much power in that kind of clarity.
It was a fascinating eye-opener for me. Especially because my journey started out trying to ‘un-fog the future’.
How accurate have you found Astrology with your clients when it comes to dating?
It’s very accurate, but relationship astrology is one of the most misunderstood branches.
You’ll often hear things like, ‘Scorpios are sexy, but dangerous’, or ‘Virgos are a good fit for Taurus’. It’s simply not true.
True relationship astrology is called Synastry, and it involves analysing your birth chart and the birth chart of your partner. It’s very good a detailing the positive aspects of your relationship, as well as the challenging aspects. It helps you move through your relationship with completely open eyes. Because it involves some analysis, it’s often only utilised for people who have an existing, committed partnership.
In the more general sense, analysing your own transits is a good way to understand the energy that has brought someone new into your life. It’ll tell you if you have ‘unfinished business’ with someone from a prior lifetime - in which case you might get into a turbulent love affair that will involve some steep learning together - or if they have genuine potential for longterm partnership.
Have you reviewed your own Astrology and how did you find that compared to reviewing a client’s Astrology?
I think we’re all a little biased when it comes to analysing ourselves. I’ll often look at my own chart, and my own upcoming transits, but sometimes it can be difficult to stay objective. I think we all have a tendency to see the best and downplay the worst.
Looking at a client’s chart, I’m completely objective. And I think that’s important. No matter what tool you use to bring clarity to a situation, I often find it’s better to have someone who is neutral weigh in with their interpretation. Fresh eyes bring fresh perspectives.
I’m much better at doing that for my clients than I am for myself.
How has Astrology helped you personally in your life?
It’s helped me so much, and continues to help me.
As much as I have enjoyed the process of understanding more about myself, astrology has a ‘warts and all’ approach. It can be confronting, at times. It’ll tell you the good, and the not so good qualities. Something which I think is important. If we don’t understand the shadow qualities that exist within us, they can take over, which is when things start to get difficult.
Astrology gives me better confidence in my choices, but it also keeps me accountable.
I’ve had so many breakthroughs with astrology that I don’t even know who I’d be if I’d never heeded its advice and guidance.
If someone wanted to do their own Astrology where should they start?
There’s so much out there. That should be a great thing, but everyone is practicing astrology in a different way, so it can make learning about astrology confusing.
If anyone would like their chart calculated professionally, so that they can understand where the planets where when they were born, I’m going to offer to do that for FREE for your readers. (Please note it may take 1-2 weeks to receive your free birth chart as it is customised completely just for you!)
If anyone would like to learn astrology for themselves, I HIGHLY recommend Sydney Astrology School. They’ll teach you astrology from the ground up. From basics to advanced.
Any other Astrology words of wisdom?
There are a lot of great tools out there to help bring clarity to a situation, but astrology is the most complete, and most accurate, I’ve ever found.
No one needs astrology. If you’re in touch with your intuition and you’re listening to your instincts, you’re probably on the right path to creating the life that’s most authentic to you. But if you’re someone who’s interested in a greater understanding of yourself and your soul’s intention in this life - astrology is definitely for you.
